It’s the last day of my placement but there is no need to be sad, as Groundwork Hertfordshire have asked me to come back as a full time community project officer.
I have been very busy at Groundwork so my blogging has been limited so i will now update you with the highlights of my 8 week placement.
First of all there has been the weekly fun and excitement of attending GreenAiders tasks in Hemel and Watford to help get the gardens of elderly people back into shape for them. I have enjoyed these tasks and the company of the lovely volunteers such as Andy, Sonia, Stu and Dave. Below are photos of the best bits!

Treehugging! Public Art!

Me, hard at work! Brooming brilliant!
Second has been the development of the Watford HEAT energy project, which i have been delivering with the help of Cheryl and Emma to provide advice on energy efficiency and free loft insulation. Thank you to Emma for all the help on those cold days door knocking in Watford and crouching down in under stair cupboards installing energy monitors.
Also my grow club at a local school has just started with a very successful launch event involving exotic fruit tasting and seed planting. This club will now continue after schools on a Thursday, so i will get to see everything grow and maybe taste some of the harvest.
It has been a very fun 8 weeks and i would just like to say a HUGE THANKYOU to everyone at Groundwork, especially Ellie, (Below) for making me feel very welcome. Thanks to vodafone for allowing me to take part in this scheme it has been very very fun and excellent for my career.

Thank you and goodnight!

It is now the penultimate week of my placement at Groundwork Hertfordshire, i have been so busy working on a whole array of projects that i have had little time to update my blog!
The energy project i am working on is now in full swing, with many people being offered free energy efficiency advice and measures for their homes. I have also completed a very interesting energy awareness course at Groundwork UK. I look forward to continuing this project and seeing the results we get from it.
I have also now started my Grow Club at a local school. I held my launch event for the club this week where we did some exotic fruit tasting and all the children planted a seed. Fun was had by all.
This week i completed a 3 day first aid at work course, which was very interesting and actually alot of fun, im sure this will come in handy one day.
I am looking forward to the last week of my placement, i have plenty to do and lots to look forward to.

I am settling in to my work at Groundwork and have a very nice desk sharing buddy called Adam.
My 2nd week at Groundwork Hertfordshire has gone by very quickly
It has been filled with meetings, gardening tasks and lots of office work.
I spent Tuesday and Wednesday on GreenAiders tasks where we went to the gardens of local elderly people and sorted them out so that they were in a more manageable state for them to look after. This was hard work but good fun, as you can see from my photo.

Next week, more meetings and an energy awareness training course!

After a very busy induction day in London my placement with Groundwork Hertfordshire has begun.
Everyone at the Groundwork office has been very welcoming and helpful.
I have been given some projects to be getting on with, these include a grow club in a local school and an energy efficiency project.
Day 2 at Groundwork was very short due to the brief blizzard that hit Borehamwood during rush hour, meaning i didn’t get into the office till after12! See photos.
Lots of research on energy efficiency to be getting on with hopefully and we will get out to work on some elderly peoples gardens next week.
